Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Caceres (ranked 3067 p4p, 3193 weight class) and Mickey Doolan (ranked 309 p4p, 315 weight class). Doolan has chosen Fight Dirty as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rickson Caceres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Mickey Doolan!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caceres avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Doolan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Caceres.
Caceres takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Doolan scores with a jab to the head.
Caceres throws a right hand that misses
and Doolan counters with a nice uppercut.
Doolan misses with a left hand

and Caceres counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Caceres controlling the action here.
Caceres seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Doolan for as long as he can get away with.
Caceres wants to pass the guard but Doolan is defending well.
Caceres not doing much here.
Caceres has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Caceres uses his free foot to push down on Doolan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Doolan.
Caceres can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Doolan is looking to escape.

Caceres looking to control but Doolan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Caceres won't let Doolan get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Doolan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Caceres. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Caceres jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Doolan manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Caceres tries to move to mount but Doolan blocks the move with his legs.

Caceres wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Doolan, who protects the arm well.

Caceres goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Doolan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Caceres but great work by Doolan.
Caceres wants to control but Doolan postures up.

Caceres is holding Doolan down, trying to stall.
Caceres is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Doolan tries to stand but Caceres is controlling his head.
Caceres manages to get back to half guard.
Caceres is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Doolan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Doolan's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Caceres has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Caceres is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Doolan defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Caceres looking to break Doolan's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Doolan remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Caceres will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Caceres working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Doolan is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Doolan felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Doolan wants to get back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rickson Caceres dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Good standup being displayed there by Doolan as he connects with a hook.
Caceres moves away from the strike by Doolan.
A telegraphed right hand from Doolan misses the target.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Caceres shoots for a double leg takedown but Doolan sprawls well. He's pushed Caceres's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Doolan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Caceres.
Doolan jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Caceres drives through with a takedown into Doolan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Doolan has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Caceres off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Doolan throws a hook but Caceres blocks it.

Caceres closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Doolan to the mat! Doolan manages to get full guard.

Doolan manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Caceres jumps guard but Doolan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Caceres is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Doolan is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rickson Caceres. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Caceres keeps control of Doolan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Caceres tries to pull guard but Doolan won't allow it.

Doolan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Doolan misses with a straight right.
Caceres shoots in but no luck this time.
A lazy left from Doolan finds it's target.

Caceres closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Doolan to the mat! Doolan manages to get full guard.
Caceres showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Caceres looking to sit in guard and control but Doolan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Caceres wants to sweep here but Doolan controlling him for the moment.

Caceres escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Doolan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Caceres looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Doolan puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Caceres works his way to full guard. Good work.
Mickey Doolan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Caceres has a closed guard, preventing Doolan from standing up.
Caceres is controlling Doolan's posture.

Caceres has his feet on Doolan's thighs here. He's pushed Doolan off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Doolan screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rickson Caceres!
Rickson Caceres spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
Mickey Doolan was interviewed post fight and said 'Man this game is tough. You lose a fight and it sits there on your record to remind you. I only hope we get to run it back.'.
