Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alvin Leung (ranked 2403 p4p, 5200 weight class) and Romeo Vanderbilt (ranked 243 p4p, 398 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alvin Leung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Romeo Vanderbilt!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Reed Andrews and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanderbilt shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Leung eats them both and turns towards Vanderbilt to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Leung closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Vanderbilt did well to prevent Leung getting side control.

Vanderbilt has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Leung is working away from the top position though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vanderbilt is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Leung scores with a couple of nice shots.
Leung moves into full mount! Vanderbilt won't be happy about that!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vanderbilt is looking to improve his position but Leung isn't that keen on the idea.

Leung definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Leung has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Leung seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Vanderbilt for as long as he can get away with.

Leung's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Leung keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Vanderbilt's head.

Leung tries to free his leg and advance position but Vanderbilt is retaining full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Vanderbilt closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Leung's guard.
Leung lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leung is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Vanderbilt will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Leung looks up at the clock and then as Vanderbilt takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Leung smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Vanderbilt closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Leung cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

This is a sustained period of stalling by Leung.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Leung, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
