Simmons comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dmx Into kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua moves out of range as Simmons strikes.
Simmons misses with a hook. Rua ducked under it nicely.

Rua shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rua showed some decent athleticism there.
Rua wants to control but Simmons is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rua wants to work for an arm triangle but Simmons is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Simmons looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Rua not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Simmons is looking for a sweep. Rua is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rua is just content to waste time from the top position. Simmons takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Rua slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Rua trying to control the action but Simmons is working from the bottom.
Rua misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Rua is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Simmons is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Rua has hold of Simmons's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Simmons seems comfortable defending it but Rua has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Simmons is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Simmons is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Rua couldn't care less - he's delighted!
