Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawindi Buktot (ranked 25003 p4p, 24849 weight class) and Wala Sapi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Wala Sapi enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dawindi Buktot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wala Sapi!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
No luck for Buktot with that takedown attempt.
Sapi tries a quick counter leg kick but Buktot is wise to it.
Buktot has his takedown stuffed
and Sapi counters with a thumping low kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sapi is trying to get back to full guard.

Sapi is concentrating on defense, preventing Buktot from advancing position.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sapi enables Buktot to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sapi manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Buktot's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Sapi shoots in for a double leg but Buktot sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Buktot takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Sapi preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Sapi wants to control the action here but instead Buktot manages to pass to full mount!

Buktot's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Buktot darts in looking for a takedown but Sapi gets double underhooks and turns Buktot into the cage.

Sapi has clasped his hands together around Buktot's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Buktot is looking for a sweep.

Sapi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Buktot.
Sapi is looking to land body kicks.
Buktot is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sapi can do to turn this around?
Sapi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Buktot avoids it really well and circles away.
Buktot quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Sapi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Buktot as he jumps to the side.
Buktot jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Sapi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Buktot sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A counter left hand to the body from Buktot misses its target.
Dawindi Buktot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wala Sapi.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Buktot closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sapi's guard.

Wala Sapi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

I would just about give that final round to Wala Sapi.
