Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Romeo Vanderbilt (ranked 4238 p4p, 4263 weight class) and Kamaru Snoozemen (ranked 383 p4p, 0 weight class). Romeo Vanderbilt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanderbilt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Snoozemen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Vanderbilt is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Snoozemen tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Vanderbilt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Snoozemen.

Snoozemen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vanderbilt on his heels. He'll look to pass Vanderbilt's guard now, I'm sure.

Vanderbilt is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Snoozemen defends well.
Vanderbilt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Vanderbilt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Snoozemen on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Snoozemen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Vanderbilt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Snoozemen avoids it really well and circles away.
Snoozemen unleashes a big counter combination but Vanderbilt bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
The fight stays on the outside here - Snoozemen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vanderbilt closes the distance and clinches up with Snoozemen, looking for a takedown. Vanderbilt pushes Snoozemen against the cage but Snoozemen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vanderbilt manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Snoozemen keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Snoozemen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A frustrated look appears on Vanderbilt's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Snoozemen tries for a takedown. No joy.
Vanderbilt jumps guard but Snoozemen turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Snoozemen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Vanderbilt working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Snoozemen is looking to stand up but Vanderbilt isn't so interested in that idea.
Kamaru Snoozemen has got the better of the ground game so far.

Snoozemen throws his legs up looking for a submission but Vanderbilt uses it to pass to side control.
Vanderbilt trying to control the action but Snoozemen is working from the bottom.
Snoozemen is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Vanderbilt is controlling him well.

Vanderbilt goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Snoozemen has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Vanderbilt but great work by Snoozemen.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vanderbilt is trying to control Snoozemen's posture but Snoozemen avoids it.

Vanderbilt is not content to let Snoozemen control the position.
Snoozemen is staying tight to Vanderbilt's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Snoozemen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Snoozemen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Snoozemen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vanderbilt keeps working.

Kamaru Snoozemen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Snoozemen feints the counter takedown.
Vanderbilt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Snoozemen as he jumps to the side.
Snoozemen doesn't manage to clinch there - Vanderbilt circles away.

Snoozemen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vanderbilt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Vanderbilt can't do much from the bottom here.

Snoozemen looking to break Vanderbilt's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Vanderbilt remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Snoozemen will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
