Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colin Dirt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Quinton Jackson looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quinton Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dirt throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Jackson looks gassed!
Jackson swats away the attempt to clinch by Dirt.
Dirt looks for a takedown but Jackson sprawls well.
Dirt fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dirt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dirt is looking to clinch.

and Jackson counters with a straight right hand.
Jackson lunges at Dirt with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dirt's hand.
Jackson throws a lazy right hand but Dirt sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Jackson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dirt's guard now.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jackson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jackson stalks Dirt and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dirt's face. Dirt staggers backwards, shaken.
Jackson lands with a nice combination. Dirt backs away looking to recover.

and Dirt counters with a head kick. That will keep Jackson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dirt wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dirt with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Jackson to score with a decent uppercut.

The fight stays on the outside here - Dirt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jackson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
