Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bernard Geoffrion !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lidio Noia!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noia swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Geoffrion takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Noia darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Noia fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
It looks like Bernard Geoffrion has been cut.
Noia lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Noia is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Noia cracks Geoffrion with a right hand to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Noia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Geoffrion moves away.
We've been hearing reports that Geoffrion has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Geoffrion tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Geoffrion avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Geoffrion has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Geoffrion there as he acknowledges the shot.
Good shot there by Noia.
Noia feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Geoffrion sprawling to the canvas! Geoffrion rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Noia finish him?!
Geoffrion is rocked!
Noia fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Geoffrion out cold! Brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Lidio Noia!
