The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Pauschi throws an overhand right that lands on Black's shoulder, as Black tries to avoid the shot.
Pauschi's jab looks to have found its range, popping Black under the eye.
Pauschi throws a head kick that misses.

Pauschi closes the distance and pushes Black back into the cage.
Black drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pauschi gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Pauschi told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

I was talking to Black's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Black turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Black manages to end up in side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pauschi parries the strikes from Black easily there. Black is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Pauschi to escape.

Black is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pauschi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Black throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Black goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Pauschi rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Black's guard! Nice work there by Pauschi!

Black working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pauschi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Black is tightening it up a little... Pauschi has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Pauschi reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Pauschi taps out! Nice BJJ there by Black!
