Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Cline!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bony Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez missing with a left hand there. Cline was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Cline fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gomez, pushing him back against the cage.
Cline blocking some punches.
Cline's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cline moves into the clinch successfully.

Gomez throws a punch but it's blocked by Cline.
Cline drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cline's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cline shoots in looking for a takedown. Gomez tries to sprawl out of it but Cline keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gomez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Cline drives through and clinches with Gomez against the cage.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Gomez is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Cline is keeping busy.

Gomez wants to stand but Cline has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cline is looking for a triangle but Gomez pushes his legs off easily.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Cline misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Gomez is not content to let Cline control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cline thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A looping hook to the body misses from Gomez. Cline does a little dance to reset his feet.
