Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rico Rodriguez (ranked 3099 p4p, 3613 weight class) and Stephen Usman (ranked 397 p4p, 452 weight class). Rodriguez comes to the cage accompanied by Latin Lingo. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Rodriguez fails with a takedown attempt.
Usman slaps away a takedown attempt from Rodriguez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rodriguez gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Usman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Rodriguez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Usman tries to avoid it but Rodriguez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Usman to the ground. Usman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rico Rodriguez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rodriguez is trying to get an arm triangle but Usman is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodriguez fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Usman trying to control but Rodriguez flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Rodriguez is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Usman with him. Usman is trying to defend but Rodriguez has an arm under the chin now! Usman grimaces and is forced to tap out!
