The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cavalera misses with a body shot
and Corts counters with a left to the body.
Corts misses with a straight right.
Corts is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cavalera.
Cavalera walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

and Corts counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Corts counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Corts connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Corts lands a nice hook to Cavalera's body. Cavalera takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Corts cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cavalera gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Corts.

Cavalera has taken the fight to the clinch.
Corts is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Corts tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Corts breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cavalera moves out of range of the strikes.

Igor Cavalera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cavalera uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Corts.
Cavalera takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

and Corts counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Corts shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

The fighters circle momentarily. Cavalera darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Corts is rocked!
Cavalera throws a shot to the body.
Oh Corts is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Corts seems to have got his legs back now.
Cavalera swings away with a body shot that misses
letting Corts counter with a right hand.
Corts cracks Cavalera with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Cavalera tries to clinch there but Corts circles away.
Cavalera throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Corts to counter with a crisp jab.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Cavalera throws a hook to the side of Corts's head but Corts sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
As Cavalera looks to move away, Corts throws a big counter combo but Cavalera just gets out of the way.
Cavalera cracks Corts with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Corts tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Cavalera pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Corts is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
