The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Route is looking to clinch.

and Route counters with a stiff right hand.
Route looks to land a combination but Petrov avoids it well.

Route has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cloud9 in the buildup to the fight.
Petrov throws a right hand that Route ducks under and follows up with a left that Route also avoids with ease.

Route's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Petrov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Route scrambles back to his feet.

Petrov fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Route has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Petrov swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Route was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Route tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Petrov paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Route tries to land a front kick but Petrov steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Route looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Route displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Petrov throws out the jab.
Petrov seems to have recovered his senses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Route connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Petrov's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Petrov - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!
