Alvarez has chosen Body Snatchers as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Christian Alvarez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alvarez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Adebayo to the mat! Adebayo manages to get full guard.
Adebayo is wriggling around but Alvarez manages to pass to half guard.

Alvarez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Adebayo's head.

Adebayo is defending against the submission attempts here by Alvarez.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alvarez is working to tighten his grip on Adebayo's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Adebayo has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Alvarez is really squeezing tight and eventually Adebayo passes out! Alvarez breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

In his post fight interview, Christian Alvarez started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
