Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Barnes (ranked 2716 p4p, 2700 weight class) and Conor OShea (ranked 336 p4p, 332 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Barnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 28 - 1, fighting out of London, Conor OShea!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes throws a nice inside leg kick.
Barnes takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
OShea tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Barnes blocks a head kick by OShea.

Barnes shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

OShea pushes Barnes off and gets back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
OShea misses the shot to the body.
OShea keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
OShea scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Barnes doesn't seem bothered though.
Barnes thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on OShea if he has to take too many more of those.
OShea connects with a single shot there.
Barnes fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. OShea looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A solid leg kick lands there for Barnes.

OShea tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Barnes was well out of range. Poor timing from OShea.

OShea is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
OShea tries to clinch up.

Barnes has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Barnes lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Barnes stuffs the takedown attempt from OShea. OShea gets slowly back to his feet.

OShea closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Barnes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. OShea looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

OShea explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Barnes looks to land a combination but OShea avoids it well.
OShea walks into a jab.
Barnes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Barnes sets himself, and OShea steps forward looking for the clinch! Barnes avoids it this time.
OShea throws a head kick but Barnes moves out of range.
Barnes scoring well with a low kick there.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Barnes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Barnes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
OShea tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OShea felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Andrew Barnes spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
