PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Julma JUSSI (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dominic Hart told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
JUSSI slaps away a takedown attempt from Hart, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hart shoots in but no luck this time.
JUSSI tries to close the distance and clinch but Hart swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hart has a takedown stuffed.
Julma JUSSI has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dominic Hart.
JUSSI wants to clinch up but Hart keeps it at a distance.

Hart is pressed up against the cage. JUSSI has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hart down to the mat. Hart avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

JUSSI wants to get up but he can't break Hart's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hart is looking to sweep but instead, JUSSI has passed into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hart is trying to maintain the position but JUSSI is very close to passing his half guard.

JUSSI decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Hart shoots in for a double leg but JUSSI sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hart has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from JUSSI finds it's way round the side to connect with Hart's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
JUSSI darts in trying to clinch

and Hart counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Hart looks gassed!

JUSSI has his foot on Hart's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hart works his way back into a safe position though.
JUSSI is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

JUSSI isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hart stacks JUSSI on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hart!

Hart stands up and beckons JUSSI to his feet.

JUSSI gets control of Hart's arms and successfully pulls guard. JUSSI will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

JUSSI kicks Hart off and gets to his feet.

Hart seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hart is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
JUSSI darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hart fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

JUSSI shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. JUSSI showed some decent athleticism there.

Hart is trying to control JUSSI's posture. JUSSI takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Hart! JUSSI is rotating here... this could be the end... Hart is out! JUSSI has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
