PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maurice Tillet (ranked 1547 p4p, 964 weight class) and Shichiroji San (ranked 232 p4p, 148 weight class). San has chosen Seven Samurai as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Shichiroji San will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Maurice Tillet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shichiroji San!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
San throws the left hand but Tillet avoids the punch easily.
Tillet half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Nice takedown defense from San. No joy for Tillet on that attempt.
Tillet doesn't succeed with the takedown
and San counters with a lovely straight right hand!
San lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
A punch lands to the side of Tillet 's head but he takes it in his stride.
San throws a right and a left that Tillet avoids nicely.
The fighters circle momentarily. San darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
San rushes Tillet with punches - Tillet moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Tillet goes down! San follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shichiroji San!
After the fight, Shichiroji San was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
