Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Dewire (ranked 3287 p4p, 24513 weight class) and Damjan Hernandez (ranked 428 p4p, 648 weight class). Dewire comes into the arena with Come With Me Now blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Dewire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Damjan Hernandez!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Hernandez.
Dewire drops down looking for a counter takedown but Hernandez sprawls and moves away.
Hernandez closes the distance and clinches.
Dewire tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hernandez breaks from the clinch.
Hernandez fails to land with a series of punches.
Hernandez instigates a clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Hernandez.
Hernandez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Dewire half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Hernandez gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Hernandez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dewire has him pressed against the cage.

Dewire tries to counter with a takedown but Hernandez is quick to defend against it.

It looks like Michael Dewire has been cut.
Hernandez looks to land a combination. Dewire sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hernandez misses with a series of wild punches.

and Dewire counters with a shoot takedown. Hernandez fights it but they end up in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hernandez wants to stand but Dewire is controlling the position.
Dewire is standing up over Hernandez. Hernandez looks to escape but Dewire dives into side control.
Dewire tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Dewire is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hernandez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Dewire advances to mount.
Dewire controlling the pace for now.

Dewire can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hernandez is looking to escape.
Dewire looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Hernandez is trying to stand up.
Dewire content just to control the position here.
Dewire trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dewire has control of Hernandez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hernandez regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Dewire tries to control but Hernandez wriggling away.
Dewire tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Hernandez is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Dewire looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Damjan Hernandez dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Michael Dewire's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Hernandez throws a right and a left that Dewire avoids nicely.
Hernandez has Dewire up against the cage in a clinch.
Hernandez makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Dewire fails to pull guard.
Dewire is trying to pull guard but Hernandez turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Hernandez is pressed up against the cage. Dewire has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hernandez down to the mat. Hernandez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Dewire. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dewire tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hernandez can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dewire tries to control but Hernandez wriggling away.
Dewire is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Dewire!
