The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black tries to clinch up but Griffin circles away and keeps his distance.
Griffin avoids the head kick by Black.

Griffin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Black's guard.

Griffin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Griffin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Griffin wants to control from the top but Black keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Black controls Griffin momentarily but Griffin frees himself.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A jab-cross combination lands for Black and sends Griffin crashing to the mat! Black follows him down to the mat - Griffin regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Bart Griffin has been cut.
Black is trying to control. Griffin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Griffin has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Black. Oh but Griffin has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Black goes limp - he's gone! Griffin jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
