PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon John (ranked 3928 p4p, 3832 weight class) and Guilmont Morel (ranked 508 p4p, 494 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Summer Carpenter and Chris Dean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Morel darts in and clinches John up against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from John fails to land.
John misses with some punches.
John swings wildly with an uppercut but Morel uses good head movement to avoid it.
John has a couple of punches blocked by Morel.
John works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Morel tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
John lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Morel's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Morel decides to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Morel manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. John manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morel stands up over John, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Morel is nestled in close to John, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Morel postures up and lands two really hard shots that put John on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but John doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

A relieved looking Guilmont Morel thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
