Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Shahriyar Chai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Duke Babaganush!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babaganush connects with a crisp jab.
Babaganush misses with an uppercut. Chai saw that one coming.
Chai is looking for a counter combo.
Chai drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Chai moves out of range of the strikes.
Chai swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Babaganush throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Babaganush keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Babaganush paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Duke Babaganush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chai decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Chai looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Babaganush with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Babaganush wants to get back to full guard.
We've been hearing that Chai has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Chai thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Chai prevents Babaganush from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chai passes to full mount!

Babaganush is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chai sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Babaganush controls the position.
Chai lands a big elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Babaganush tries to hold on but Chai postures up.

It looks like Duke Babaganush has been cut.
Babaganush is trying to stand.
Chai lands a big shot there that rocks Babaganush but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Chai cracks Babaganush with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shahriyar Chai!
Our winner, Shahriyar Chai, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
