PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leon The Professional (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ze Carrico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ze Carrico told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ze Carrico!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carrico shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with The Professional but The Professional pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ze Carrico seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The Professional bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carrico's guard.

Carrico manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. The Professional manages to get himself to full guard.

Carrico shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts The Professional as he jumps to the side.

Carrico closes the distance and clinches up with The Professional, looking for a takedown. Carrico pushes The Professional against the cage but The Professional circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The Professional has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carrico is working away from the top position though.

Carrico is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so The Professional is just riding it out for now. Carrico eventually gives up the hold.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Carrico has a takedown stuffed.
The Professional throws the kick towards the body but Carrico avoids it.
Carrico moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

The Professional does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for The Professional, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
