Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Minasian!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minasian has closed the distance and engaged Lightning in a clinch.
Minasian prevents Lightning from breaking the clinch.
Lightning definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lightning.

Minasian ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lightning scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Minasian doesn't seem bothered though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Minasian swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Minasian bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lightning's head backwards.

Lightning throws out a head kick that Minasian doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Minasian crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Minasian's eyes and has decided to let it go on!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Cecil Lightning should take that round, based on the knockdown.

Minasian throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Minasian takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lightning throws a body punch but Minasian moves out of range.

Lightning was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
