The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thorne feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bond wants to stand but Thorne is controlling the position.
Thorne tries to stand but Bond is controlling from the bottom.

Bond is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bond will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Bond had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Thorne is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bond Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Thorne's back instead.

Bond is trying to stick to Thorne's back but Thorne is turning into Bond. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Bond's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Thorne.

Bond is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Thorne looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Thorne trying to control but Bond is working from the bottom.
Thorne controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Bond trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Bond pulls Thorne in close to prevent any damage.

Thorne gets to his feet - Bond follows without any prompting.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bond lands with a nice combination. Thorne backs away looking to recover.
Thorne looks for a takedown but Bond sprawls well.
Thorne thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Bond if he has to take too many more of those.

Thorne tries to keep at a distance but Bond has taken the fight into the clinch.
Thorne wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bond has him pressed against the cage.
Bond throws a punch but it's blocked by Thorne.
Thorne gets underhooks to prevent Bond's takedown attempt.

Bond lands a takedown into guard.

Bond wants to get up but he can't break Thorne's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Thorne throws a series of punches but Bond avoids them all with ease.
Thorne misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thorne has a takedown stuffed.
Thorne checks the leg kick.
Bond is looking to clinch.
Bond rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Thorne moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Bond tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Bond shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thorne throws a body kick that misses.
Bond takes a jab right on the kisser.
Thorne jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
A head kick misses from Thorne.
Bond catches Thorne with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bond avoids the head kick by Thorne.
Bond has a takedown stuffed.
Bond tries to clinch there but Thorne circles away.
Bond dodges the punch combination from Thorne.
Bond tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thorne paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bond shoots in for a takedown but Thorne shows good takedown defense.
Ricky Thorne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dond Bond.
Thorne feints and then cracks Bond's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bond down.
No luck for Bond with that takedown attempt.
Bond throws a head kick but Thorne moves out of range.

Bond prevents Thorne from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thorne has control of Bond's left arm, preventing Bond from doing any damage.

Bond drops back looking for a leg! Thorne is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thorne manages to kick Bond off! Bond jumps back into Thorne's guard.

Bond sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Thorne's guard.
Bond wants to stand up but Thorne has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Bond not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bond is thwarting Thorne's attempts to control the position.
Thorne is staying active underneath Bond, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Thorne pushes Bond off and gets back to his feet.
Thorne looks for a takedown but Bond sprawls well.
Bond dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Thorne. That did some damage!

Bond bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Thorne is looking to regain half guard here but Bond keeps moving and retains side control.

Dond Bond showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Bond throws a head kick but Thorne moves out of range.
Thorne fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bond takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Bond shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Bond drops back, looking for a kneebar! Thorne looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Thorne looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Thorne!
Bond is trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

You can see the frustration on Bond's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bond manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Thorne has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bond is working away from the top position though.
Thorne is not content to let Bond control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Thorne pushes Bond off looking to stand but Bond dives back in and keeps control.
Thorne is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bond works his foot free and advances to mount.
Thorne is trying to stand but he's just given Bond his back.

Thorne just trying to survive but Bond is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Bond keeps control of the position as Thorne tries to break free.

Bond working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dond Bond is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
