Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lane Pedersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renzo Edery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lane Pedersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Renzo Edery!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edery moves forwards but Pedersen connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Edery tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pedersen swivels and escapes.

Edery decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Pedersen is trying to stand.

Pedersen trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Edery is trying to work for a kimura but Pedersen is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pedersen wants to control but Edery is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Edery misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Pedersen moves into range and connects with a jab.
Edery shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pedersen pinned against the cage. Pedersen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Edery gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Edery drops his hands momentarily and Pedersen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Pedersen throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Lane Pedersen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pedersen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Edery goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pedersen prevents it.
Lane Pedersen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Renzo Edery.
Edery looks gassed!

Pedersen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pedersen uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

A head kick from Pedersen lands but Edery takes it in his stride.

Pedersen rushes Edery and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Edery prevents Pedersen from getting back to his feet.

Pedersen wriggles free and stands up.
Pedersen thuds his right hand into Edery's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Pedersen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Pedersen has managed to clinch.
Edery jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pedersen walks away with a smile on his face. Edery gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Pedersen connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Pedersen throws a right and a left that Edery avoids nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lane Pedersen dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Pedersen lands an overhand right.
Edery shoots in for a double leg but Pedersen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pedersen throws a one two combo.
Edery is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
A nice leg kick lands there from Pedersen.
Edery changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pedersen tries to avoid it but Edery manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pedersen to the ground. Pedersen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pedersen is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Edery shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pedersen as he jumps to the side.

Pedersen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Edery, pushing him back against the cage.

Pedersen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Edery drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Pedersen thumps Edery with a low kick.

Pedersen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pedersen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Pedersen could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Pedersen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Pedersen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Edery for as long as he can get away with.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Lane Pedersen just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Pedersen looks to land a combination. Edery sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Pedersen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Edery's head backwards.
Pedersen scores with a nice right hand.

and Pedersen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Pedersen throws a nice looking combination but Edery bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Pedersen's corner calls for a 1-2. Pedersen obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Pedersen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Pedersen lands with a hook. Edery tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Pedersen rushes Edery and presses him up against the cage.

Pedersen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Edery has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Pedersen stalks Edery and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Edery's face. Edery staggers backwards, shaken.
Pedersen lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

and Pedersen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Pedersen throws a nice looking combination but Edery bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Edery takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Pedersen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Pedersen wants to stand but Edery is controlling his posture from full guard.

Pedersen wants to stand and escape but instead Edery has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Edery drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pedersen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Edery has Pedersen in his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pedersen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Edery is proving hard to escape from.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Edery has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Pedersen.
Pedersen throws a series of strikes that have Edery backpedaling.

Pedersen drives through with a takedown into guard.
Edery controls Pedersen momentarily but Pedersen frees himself.

Edery escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pedersen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pedersen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lane Pedersen showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Pedersen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
