Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mono Loco (ranked 444 p4p, 75 weight class) and Yuro Nagasaki (ranked 52 p4p, 13 weight class). Nagasaki comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dead Souls - Joy Division kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mono Loco!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 44 - 25 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yuro Nagasaki!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Loco closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Loco lands in his opponent's guard.
Loco's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Loco has gone for a leg lock! Nagasaki slips out almost immediately though and dives into Loco's guard.

Loco tries to land a sweep but no joy.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Loco is on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Loco has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nagasaki is working away from the top position though.
Loco is refusing to be controlled, as Nagasaki sits in half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nagasaki might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Loco haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Nagasaki throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Loco was covering up waiting for the punch and Nagasaki finishes the takedown easily into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Loco is on top in guard.

Yuro Nagasaki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Donk. Nagasaki catches Loco right on the button with a cross.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Mono Loco will probably get the nod.
That's time! Loco's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Loco with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Nagasaki to score with a decent uppercut.

Loco looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nagasaki is looking to slow Loco down with leg kicks.
Mono Loco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nagasaki connects with a nice short shot to Loco's temple.

Yuro Nagasaki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nagasaki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
