The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson misses the body punch
and Salaam counters with a straight right hand.
Sloppy strikes from Salaam. Those never looked like landing.
Salaam lunges at Wilson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wilson's hand.
Salaam feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Wilsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Wilson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Wilson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Salaam tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wilson was well out of range. Poor timing from Salaam.
Salaam lands a nice shot to the body.
Andre Salaam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wilson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Salaam manages to avoid it.

Wilson closes the distance and pushes Salaam back into the cage.
Salaam misses with a hook to the ribs.

Wilson jumps guard.
Salaam in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Salaam must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Wilson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Salaam really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wilson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wilson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Salaam's guard.

Wilson drops back looking for a leg! Salaam is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Salaam manages to kick Wilson off! Wilson jumps back into Salaam's guard.

Salaam can't keep his opponent in guard - Wilson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Salaam wants to control the action here but instead Wilson manages to pass to full mount!

Wilson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Salaam looks a forlorn figure.

It looks like Andre Salaam has been cut.
Wilson trying to control but Salaam is having none of it.
Wilson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Salaam is in all sorts of trouble here.

Wilson lands a big shot there that rocks Salaam but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That has opened up Andre Salaam's cut even more.

Andre Salaam's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
