Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lottovoittaja Silvennoinen (ranked 4559 p4p, 4220 weight class) and Kirk Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerr shoots for a takedown but Silvennoinen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Silvennoinen lands a really nice looking cross but Kerr seems unphased.

Kerr shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Silvennoinen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kerr is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kerr tries to move into range but Silvennoinen moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Lottovoittaja Silvennoinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silvennoinen scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Kerr closes the distance and clinches up with Silvennoinen, looking for a takedown. Kerr pushes Silvennoinen against the cage but Silvennoinen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kerr manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Silvennoinen on his heels. He'll look to pass Silvennoinen's guard now, I'm sure.

Silvennoinen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kerr on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kerr seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Silvennoinen lands a jab to the head.
Silvennoinen lands with a cross.
Lottovoittaja Silvennoinen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silvennoinen scores with a body shot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A punch lands to the side of Kerr 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Silvennoinen drops Kerr with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kerr looks back up at him and smiles so Silvennoinen waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Kerr is rocked!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Silvennoinen finds Kerr's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Kerr flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Silvennoinen lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Kerr will be OK.
