Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kento Kawamata (ranked 610 p4p, 909 weight class) and Blake Phoenix (ranked 92 p4p, 138 weight class). Blake Phoenix has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, Kento Kawamata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Blake Phoenix!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawamata throws a head kick but Phoenix moves out of range.
Kawamata throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

It looks like Blake Phoenix has been cut.
Phoenix lands a head shot.
Kawamata lands a jab to the nose.
A swing and a miss from Phoenix.
Kawamata scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Phoenix cracks Kawamata with an open hand slap.
Kawamata throws a push kick but Phoenix slaps the foot to one side.
Phoenix swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Kawamata walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Phoenix lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Phoenix moves forwards but Kawamata connects with a nice, crisp jab.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kawamata lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Phoenix circles away quickly and effectively.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kawamata needs to keep his hands up - Phoenix had a free shot at his head there.

Oh Kawamata is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Phoenix counters with a left right combination that sends Kawamata crashing to the mat - Phoenix wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Kawamata out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
