The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Lascombe counters with a single leg into guard. Hernandez didn't expect that.

Lascombe is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lascombe's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Lascombe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Lascombe has gone for a leg lock! Hernandez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lascombe's guard.

Hernandez postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Lascombe can't keep his opponent in guard - Hernandez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are battling for position here. Lascombe manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Lascombe is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Hernandez content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Lascombe has locked up a guillotine! Lascombe's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hernandez is holding on here and Lascombe must be using up a lot of energy. Hernandez has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Lascombe gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
