Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Quaid (ranked 4219 p4p, 3424 weight class) and Matvey Elin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Quaid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matvey Elin!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Elin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Quaid might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Elin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Quaid is looking for a sweep. Elin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Elin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Quaid on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Elin uses his free foot to push down on Quaid's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Quaid.
Elin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Elin misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Quaid is bucking up trying to escape but Elin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

It looks like Jake Quaid has been cut.

Quaid is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Elin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Quaid looks a forlorn figure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
