PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Austin (ranked 4251 p4p, 4285 weight class) and Jero Wolf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Wolf's choice of entrance music: Better Together. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Austin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jero Wolf!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wolf cracks Austin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Austin is defended easily by Wolf.
Austin is looking to clinch.
Wolf tries to counter with a clinch but Austin shakes him off and moves away.
A head kick by Austin misses

and Wolf counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Austin controls Wolf momentarily but Wolf frees himself.
Austin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wolf is one step ahead there.
Wolf is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Austin has momentary wrist control but Wolf slips an elbow through the middle.

Austin throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Wolf in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Wolf is looking to work some ground and pound but Austin has wrist control.
Austin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Wolf keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Austin's head.
Wolf really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Austin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wolf looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Austin has picked Wolf up and slammed him! Wolf can't keep hold of the triangle and Austin manages to pass to side control!
I wouldn't like to be where Wolf is right now.

Wolf wants to hold on but Austin pushes him away.

Austin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Wolf is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Jake Austin will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Austin darts in looking for a takedown but Wolf gets double underhooks and turns Austin into the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jake Austin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Austin is working to avoid the ground and pound but Wolf connects with a decent elbow.

Wolf lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Austin down.

Wolf creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wolf looks up at the clock and then as Austin takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Wolf smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Wolf is looking to take a break and control but Austin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jero Wolf comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wolf has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
