PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lombardo Limba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Che Satomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Limba comes to the cage accompanied by The Prodigy - Voodoo People. Satomi has chosen Bad Boys as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lombardo Limba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Che Satomi!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Limba throws a head kick but Satomi moves out of range.
Limba takes a swing at Satomi's ribcage but misses.
Limba is looking to slow Satomi down with leg kicks.
Limba throws a leg kick but Satomi checks it.
Satomi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Limba.
Satomi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Satomi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Limba, who protects the arm well.

Satomi goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Limba rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Satomi's guard! Nice work there by Limba!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Satomi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Limba doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Limba manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Limba throws a looping overhand right but Satomi ducks down to avoid it.
Lombardo Limba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Satomi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Limba sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Limba misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Satomi circles away from the clinch attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Limba throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Limba misses with an uppercut. Satomi saw that one coming.
Satomi on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Limba misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lombardo Limba will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Satomi scores with a one two! Limba had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Limba wants to clinch up but Satomi keeps it at a distance.

Satomi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Satomi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Limba's waist but Limba gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Satomi off to one side.

Limba fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Satomi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Limba tries to score with a low kick but Satomi moves his leg out of the way.
Satomi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Satomi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Limba sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Limba displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Satomi throws out the jab.

Satomi drives through with a takedown into guard.

Satomi tries to free his leg and advance position but Limba is retaining full guard.
Limba wants to stand and escape but Satomi is having none of it.
Satomi looking to sit in guard and control but Limba gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Satomi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Satomi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Limba gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Satomi is breathing heavily.
Limba stays in close to Satomi's body and controls the position.

Satomi wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Satomi is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Satomi is covering up but some of the strikes from Limba are getting through and doing damage.
Satomi manages to reverse the position and now he's in Limba's guard. Nice work there by Satomi.
Limba looking to hit a scissor sweep but Satomi is one step ahead there.

Satomi drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Limba dives on top into guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Limba throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A punch lands to the side of Satomi 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Limba throws a shot from downtown. Satomi moves away and avoids it.

Satomi is just content to waste time from the top position. Limba takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Satomi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Satomi wants to pass to mount but Limba is defending the position.
Limba has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Satomi is working away from the top position though.

Limba wants to get back to full guard.
Satomi is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Satomi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Satomi connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Limba tries to clinch

so Satomi counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Limba wants to stand up but Satomi is controlling him.
Satomi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Limba is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Che Satomi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Limba wants to stand up but Satomi is controlling him.

Satomi has gone for a leg lock! Limba slips out almost immediately though and dives into Satomi's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Che Satomi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Limba has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
