Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willy Mataitai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Clinch King Smash Machine!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smash Machine goes for a double leg but Mataitai avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mataitai continues to drive forward.
Mataitai moves out of range of the strikes.
Mataitai moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
It looks like Clinch King Smash Machine has been cut.
Smash Machine shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mataitai as he jumps to the side.
Mataitai throws a body shot but no joy.
Willy Mataitai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Smash Machine counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Smash Machine thuds his right hand into Mataitai's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Mataitai ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Mataitai tries to work over Smash Machine's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Smash Machine using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mataitai has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Smash Machine has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mataitai after a bit of a struggle.

I was talking to Mataitai's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Smash Machine tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mataitai avoids it.

Mataitai throws a hook to the side of Smash Machine's head but Smash Machine sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Mataitai counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mataitai avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Smash Machine shoots for a takedown but Mataitai saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
It looked like Mataitai wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Smash Machine loads up on a big right hand but Mataitai slips the punch.
Mataitai lands a really nice looking cross but Smash Machine seems unphased.

Smash Machine shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Smash Machine was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Smash Machine is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Mataitai still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Mataitai has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Clinch King Smash Machine has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mataitai decides to stand back up. Mataitai steps back and let's Smash Machine get back to his feet.

Smash Machine is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mataitai.

Mataitai lands a nice shot that snaps Smash Machine's head back.

Mataitai drops Smash Machine with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Smash Machine looks back up at him and smiles so Mataitai waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Smash Machine is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smash Machine gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Mataitai points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Smash Machine wakes up just in time to hear Mataitai thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Willy Mataitai!
Willy Mataitai gave a mention to Brooklyn Apothecary in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
Clinch King Smash Machine was interviewed post fight and said 'I want to thank the fans for the support! We'll be back stronger!'.
