Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ziggy Stardust (ranked 855 p4p, 2979 weight class) and Tapio Virtainen (ranked 118 p4p, 393 weight class). Stardust comes to the cage accompanied by Starman. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Virtainen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Virtainen lands with a kick to the ribs.
Stardust displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Virtainen throws out the jab.
Stardust attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Virtainen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stardust sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A nice combination there by Virtainen.
Virtainen defending well as Stardust loads up on a big left hand.
Virtainen moves away from the strike by Stardust.
Virtainen swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Stardust swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Virtainen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Stardust takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Stardust tries a head kick but it misses.
Virtainen unleashes a big counter combination but Stardust bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Virtainen.
Virtainen goes for a takedown attempt but Stardust pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Stardust lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Stardust throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Stardust lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Virtainen checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Virtainen ducks under a wild hook from Stardust.
Virtainen moves away from the strike by Stardust.
Ziggy Stardust is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Stardust tries to sprawl but Virtainen drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Stardust has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Virtainen is on him like a limpet, forcing Stardust back against the cage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Virtainen is trying to drag Stardust to the mat but Stardust just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Virtainen can't find room to land a body shot as Stardust controls the action.
Virtainen drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Our sources have told us that Stardust has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Ziggy Stardust has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tapio Virtainen.
Virtainen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Stardust pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Virtainen swings wildly with an uppercut but Stardust uses good head movement to avoid it.
Virtainen throws a punch but it's blocked by Stardust.
Virtainen tries to score a body lock takedown but Stardust shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Stardust throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stardust tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Virtainen was well out of range. Poor timing from Stardust.

Virtainen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Virtainen lands a glancing blow to the side of Stardust's head.
Stardust buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Virtainen catches Stardust with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tapio Virtainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nice uppercut lands for Virtainen. That snapped Stardust's head back.
Virtainen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Virtainen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stardust defends it nicely.
Stardust misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That kick from Stardust tenderised Virtainen's leg. Virtainen is trying to keep his angry face on.
Virtainen's corner calls for a 1-2. Virtainen obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Virtainen is rocked!
Stardust lands a brutal uppercut that launches Virtainen off his feet! Virtainen tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
