Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Alexandrov (ranked 2344 p4p, 2138 weight class) and Charlie Chan (ranked 337 p4p, 309 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alexandrov has taken the fight to the clinch.

Chan manages to break the clinch.
Chan lands a jab to the head.
Alexandrov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Chan.

and Chan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Alexandrov thinking.

Chan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Chan lands a really nice looking cross but Alexandrov seems unphased.
Chan misses with a takedown attempt - Alexandrov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Alexandrov tries to pull guard but Chan holds him up against the cage and eventually Alexandrov drops back down to his feet.

We've been told by Alexandrov's head coaches at Punch Out Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Charlie Chan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by Alexandrov. That's going to slow Chan down.

Chan shoots in but Alexandrov avoids the takedown attempt easily.
It looked like Alexandrov was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Alex Alexandrov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Chan.
