Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Martins Verdins (ranked 3679 p4p, 4320 weight class) and Lino Silva (ranked 143 p4p, 154 weight class). Martins Verdins looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva rushes Verdins and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Silva gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Verdins.
Silva tries to land a knee to the head but Verdins blocks with his arms.
Silva landing knees to the body.
Verdins is breathing heavily.
Silva lands a good knee to the midsection. Verdins won't want to take too many of those.
Silva cracks Verdins with a nice body shot.
Silva lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Silva scores with a hook to the body.
Silva lands with a short shot to the head.

A short body shot lands from Silva as the two fighters clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Silva.

I was talking to Verdins's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Silva gets through Verdins's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Silva drops Verdins onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Verdins is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Verdins is rocked!

Silva has Verdins pressed against the cage. He pushes Verdins back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Silva throws a beautiful elbow that sends Verdins crashing to the floor! Silva piles on the pressure with more strikes! Verdins is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
