Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Kogos (ranked 1046 p4p, 1297 weight class) and Nathan Leal (ranked 145 p4p, 176 weight class). Nathan Leal has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Paulo Kogos's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Kogos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nathan Leal!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Nice uppercut lands for Kogos. That snapped Leal's head back.
Kogos connects with a good right hand that stumbles Leal. Leal circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Kogos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Kogos.
Leal takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kogos's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

OH! Leal has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Kogos smells blood and charges in for the finish! Kogos unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Leal sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

A determined Paulo Kogos didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
