Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo da Silva Furtado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mat maz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). mat maz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
maz misses with a head kick.
maz tries to close the distance and clinch but Furtado swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
maz wants to clinch up but Furtado keeps it at a distance.

maz should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

maz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Furtado is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. maz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Furtado's back instead.
maz is trying to stick to Furtado's back but Furtado is turning into maz. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in maz's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Furtado.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ricardo da Silva Furtado.
