Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Tozan (ranked 5631 p4p, 4164 weight class) and Francis Montaque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Francis Montaque!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Montaque drives through and clinches with Tozan against the cage.

Montaque manages to break the clinch.
Montaque is looking to clinch but Tozan is avoiding it.
Montaque moves in looking to clinch but Tozan pushes him off.
Tozan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tozan shoots in but no luck this time.
Tozan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Montaque as he avoids it easily.

Montaque replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Tozan blocks it well.

A little jabbing left from Montaque on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Tozan is trying to force a seperation but Montaque has the dominant position.

An uppercut to the body lands inside from Montaque.

Montaque breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tozan is looking to clinch.
Tozan dives in and grabs Montaque's left leg, looking for a takedown. Montaque pushes down on Tozan's head and hops out.

Tozan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tozan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Montaque does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Montaque tries to get to full guard but Tozan has control of the leg.
Montaque wants to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No joy there for Tozan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tozan darts in looking for a takedown but Montaque gets double underhooks and turns Tozan into the cage.
Tozan backing away here, and Montaque unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Tozan is breathing heavily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Montaque slows down the pace here.

Montaque manages to break the clinch.
Tozan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Montaque's waist but Montaque gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tozan off to one side.

Montaque lands a big uppercut and Tozan crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Tozan looks OK. Montaque waves Tozan back to his feet!

Tozan is rocked!

It looks like Greg Tozan has been cut.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Tozan crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Montaque - the referee stops the clock and Tozan gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Montaque. Tozan manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Oh Tozan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Montaque darts in and clinches Tozan up against the cage.

Montaque pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Montaque swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tozan seems to have got his legs back now.

Montaque gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Montaque's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Montaque shoots in looking for a takedown. Tozan tries to sprawl out of it but Montaque keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tozan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Tozan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Montaque counters with a crisp right hand that drops Tozan! Montaque lets Tozan back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Montaque lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Tozan backwards.

Montaque escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Montaque stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Montaque wants it to stay on the feet.
Montaque buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Nice takedown defense from Tozan. No joy for Montaque on that attempt.
Greg Tozan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Montaque shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tozan sprawls well. Tozan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Montaque gets slowly back to his feet.
