The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Mir checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Mir is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Pudzianowski shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mir manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Mir has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Pudzianowski off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Mir should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Mir drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Pudzianowski defends it well.

and Mir counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mir has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Pudzianowski is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Mir yanks on the arm and Pudzianowski is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Mir.
