The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assman shoots in for a takedown but Papadopoulos shows good takedown defense.

Assman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Papadopoulos's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Papadopoulos shoots in looking for a takedown. Assman tries to sprawl out of it but Papadopoulos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Assman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Papadopoulos closes the distance and clinches up with Assman, looking for a takedown. Papadopoulos pushes Assman against the ropes but Assman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Papadopoulos takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Assman lands a two punch combo.
Papadopoulos walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Assman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Papadopoulos paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Papadopoulos shoots in but Assman avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Papadopoulos changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Assman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Assman has his foot on Papadopoulos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Papadopoulos works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Papadopoulos has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Assman to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Papadopoulos is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Assman pulls down on the head and he's put Papadopoulos to sleep! This one is all over!
