The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin dives in and grabs Fontes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fontes pushes down on Austin's head and hops out.
Fontes changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Austin lands with a nice combination. Fontes backs away looking to recover.

Fontes gets the takedown into side control.

Austin sneaks out the side door and pushes Fontes away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Fontes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Austin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fontes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Austin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Austin wants to improve his position but Fontes is controlling well.
