Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kirill Berkut (ranked 2859 p4p, 2396 weight class) and Do No Joy (ranked 284 p4p, 246 weight class). Do No Joy will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kirill Berkut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Do No Joy!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berkut shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts No Joy as he jumps to the side.
No Joy misses with an attempted mid kick.
Berkut fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A thudding body kick lands there by No Joy!
No Joy wants to slow Berkut down by chopping away at his legs.
Berkut tries to score a power double leg takedown but No Joy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Berkut somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kirill Berkut. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck for Berkut with that takedown attempt.
No Joy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Berkut.

and Berkut takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A decent looking cross lands there for No Joy.
Kirill Berkut seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No Joy lunges at Berkut with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Berkut's hand.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Berkut.
Berkut shoots for a double leg takedown but No Joy sprawls well. He's pushed Berkut's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Berkut shoots in for a double leg but No Joy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
This has been an exciting period of action!
No Joy tries to work over Berkut's front leg with a kick but Berkut checks it.
Nice takedown defense from No Joy. No joy for Berkut on that attempt.
Berkut shoots in for a takedown but No Joy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Berkut closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Berkut lands in his opponent's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if No Joy can do anything to dispel that myth.

Berkut has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've been hearing that Berkut has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

No Joy striking off his back but it's not causing Berkut any problems.
Berkut might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Berkut looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks No Joy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
No Joy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Berkut. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Berkut wants to free his trapped foot but No Joy is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Berkut lands a nice short elbow.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Berkut connects with a nice short shot to No Joy's temple.
