Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Gable!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Darius Jones!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Gable throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Jones throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Gable decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gable accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Gable from controlling successfully.

Gable drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Gable off! Gable jumps back into Jones's guard.
Gable wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.
Gable prevents Jones from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gable postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gable drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Gable off! Gable jumps back into Jones's guard.

Gable throwing strikes but missing.
Gable postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gable stops Jones from standing up.
Gable postures up and lands a big shot to Jones's brow.

Gable drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gable jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Gable has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gable is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gable passes Jones's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Gable keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Jones has one foot on Gable's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Gable scores with a takedown into Jones's guard.
Gable has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Gable is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gable to get the leverage.

Gable is trying for a kimura here. Jones looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Gable wins by kimura!

Daniel Gable tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
