Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raymond King (ranked 4482 p4p, 5559 weight class) and Drake Murphy (ranked 550 p4p, 608 weight class). Murphy has chosen Heat Waves as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Raymond King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Drake Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy doesn't manage to clinch there - King circles away.

King keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Murphy.
Murphy throws a head kick but King moves out of range.
Murphy misses with a lunging right hand

and King moves into the clinch.
King drops down looking for an ankle pick but Murphy pulls his leg out and moves away.

Murphy instigates a clinch.
Murphy is trying to force a seperation but King has the dominant position.
King has Murphy pushed against the cage.
King is trying to drag Murphy to the mat but Murphy just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Murphy lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

It looks like Raymond King has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

King breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've been told by King's head coaches at London MMA Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
King looks to land a combination but Murphy avoids it well.
Murphy shoots and misses
and King counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Murphy closes the distance and pushes King back into the cage.
Murphy with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

King pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Murphy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
King circles away from the clinch attempt.
Murphy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. King manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
King lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

King takes the fight into the clinch.

King pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
King lands with a kick to the ribs.

King forces Murphy back against the cage and clinches.
King fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raymond King. That's going to take a lot out of him.
King jumps guard but Murphy stands there with King around his waist. King gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Murphy using the Thai plumb to throw knees but King has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Murphy lands a shot to the body.

King pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
King throws a right and a left that Murphy avoids nicely.
King circles away from the clinch attempt
and King counters with a stiff right hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Murphy looks to clinch
and King counters with a two punch combo.
Drake Murphy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

King has managed to clinch.
King pressing his opponent against the cage.
King tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Murphy just stands there and leans against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from King.
Murphy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as King walks away with a smile on his face. Murphy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Murphy throws a lazy uppercut
and King counters with a two punch combo.

Murphy is rocked!
Murphy sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Murphy is still on wobbly legs! Can King finish him?
Murphy looks winded!
Murphy takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

King closes the distance and clinches.
King lands with a short punch from the clinch.
King lands with a right to the head.
King keeps control of Murphy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

King breaks from the clinch.
King lands a big right hook! Murphy looks hurt but is still standing! King lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Murphy falls down and King dives in with a huge hammer fist! Murphy's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and King runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Raymond King!
Raymond King very nearly forgot to thank Maximum Human Performance amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
