Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bartholomew Slice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Richard Laithwaite!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Bruno Lombardi and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laithwaite gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Slice.
We've been told by Slice's head coaches at Doom's Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Laithwaite tries to close the distance and clinch but Slice swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Laithwaite walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Laithwaite wants to clinch.
Laithwaite slips a straight right by Slice.
Good leg kick by Slice.
Slice connects with a jab.
Slice dips to his left and cracks Laithwaite with an uppercut!
Laithwaite moves out of range as Slice throws a body kick.
Laithwaite wants to clinch.
Slice lands a nice shot that snaps Laithwaite's head back.
Slice scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Nice takedown defense from Slice. No joy for Laithwaite on that attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Laithwaite has taken the fight to the clinch.
Slice breaks from the clinch.
Laithwaite stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Slice.
Slice throws a big shot that misses.
Slice tests Laithwaite's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Laithwaite is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Slice fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Laithwaite to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Laithwaite looks to clinch but Slice throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Laithwaite taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Bartholomew Slice!
In his post fight interview, Bartholomew Slice started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
