PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Old Leg Tartakov (ranked 576 p4p, 443 weight class) and Richard Feynman (ranked 84 p4p, 66 weight class). Richard Feynman will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Old Leg Tartakov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Richard Feynman!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Feynman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tartakov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Feynman misses with an attempted mid kick.
Tartakov tries to counter with a takedown but Feynman is quick to defend against it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tartakov. Feynman does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tartakov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Feynman but Feynman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tartakov fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Feynman.
Feynman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Tartakov counters with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Feynman throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Tartakov counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Feynman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tartakov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Feynman tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Feynman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Tartakov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Feynman is keeping the position for now.

Tartakov is working hard here to advance position.
Tartakov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Tartakov trying to control but Feynman is working from the bottom.
Tartakov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Tartakov is pushing down on Feynman's leg trying to pass to half guard. Feynman is fighting to maintain full guard but Tartakov has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tartakov is nestled in close to Feynman, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

It looks like Richard Feynman has been cut.

Feynman has hold of Tartakov's hands but Tartakov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Tartakov is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Feynman!

Tartakov cracks Feynman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Feynman is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Tartakov not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Feynman tries to roll over but Tartakov keeps him under control.

Feynman is looking to escape.
Feynman felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Tartakov passes the guard and advances to mount!

Feynman is wriggling around trying to escape.

That has opened up Richard Feynman's cut even more.

Richard Feynman's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
