PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryce Hall (ranked 4281 p4p, 4325 weight class) and Reed Nacho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bryce Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Reed Nacho!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nacho shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nacho showed some decent athleticism there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hall tries to roll over but Nacho keeps him under control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nacho wants to get back to his feet.

Hall is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nacho's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nacho's back!

Nacho just trying to survive but Hall is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Hall is looking for the choke from the back position but Nacho is controlling his hands well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nacho turns into Hall and is now in his guard.

Nacho is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

A close round but Reed Nacho will probably get the nod.

Nacho is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hall's half guard.
Hall might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hall is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hall has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nacho is working away from the top position though.

Nacho can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hall is looking to escape.

Hall wants to hold on but Nacho pushes him away.

Nacho wants to finish this one by submission but Hall is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Nacho.

Nacho can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hall is looking to escape.
Nacho is landing with some decent strikes but Hall is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Nacho is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hall is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Nacho takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Nacho prevents Hall from getting the reversal.
Nacho controlling the pace for now.
Hall tries to control Nacho's body but Nacho pushes him off. Hall squirms to his side and now Nacho has his back!
Nacho is landing with strikes. Hall can't take much more of this.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hall is trapped and Nacho is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Nacho has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hall looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Reed Nacho showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A head kick misses from Nacho.

Hall fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nacho, pushing him back against the cage.
Nacho will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hall up against the cage.
Hall lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Nacho.
Hall is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Nacho is defending well for now.
Hall is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Nacho gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nacho has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hall uses from the top position.
Hall has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Nacho controls Hall momentarily but Hall frees himself.
Hall wants to control from the top but Nacho keeps moving.

Nacho lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Nacho bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hall's guard.

Nacho controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nacho slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Hall tries to buck Nacho off but Nacho is having none of it.

Hall sneaks out the side door and pushes Nacho away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Nacho drives through with a takedown into Hall's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hall escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nacho gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hall being controlled here, momentarily.

Nacho trying to control but Hall is working from the bottom.
Hall is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Nacho stopping the sweep attempt from Hall.
Nacho tries to free his leg and advance position but Hall is retaining full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Hall has a takedown stuffed.
A little jabbing left from Nacho on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Nacho looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Nacho looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Nacho is taking a breather. Hall says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Hall is not content to let Nacho control the position.
Bryce Hall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Reed Nacho is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nacho perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

And that's the end of the fight!
Reed Nacho comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Nacho winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
