The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chora will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Chora steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gomes.
Gomes moves in looking to clinch but Chora pushes him off.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gomes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gomes gets the takedown into side control.
Chora tries to escape but Gomes is in control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Chora counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gomes's guard now.

Chora decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Gomes shoots and misses

and Chora counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gomes!
Chora tries to control but Gomes wriggling away.

Gomes is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Chora locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Gomes is forced to tap!
