Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Barney Stamp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wreed Wrastle!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wrastle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stamp sprawls well. Stamp wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wrastle gets slowly back to his feet.

Stamp goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Wrastle rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Stamp's guard! Nice work there by Wrastle!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stamp escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wrastle gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Stamp wants to sweep but no luck.

Wrastle is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Stamp!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Stamp shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wrastle's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wrastle can do anything to dispel that myth.

Stamp is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wrastle doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stamp.

Wrastle keeping moving, preventing Stamp from controlling successfully.

Wrastle is looking for a triangle but Stamp pushes his legs off easily.
Stamp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wrastle swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stamp wants to control from the top but Wrastle keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Wrastle wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wrastle enables Stamp to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wrastle manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Wrastle has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Stamp is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Wrastle has hold of one of Stamp's legs. Stamp is fighting the takedown attempt but Wrastle gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Wrastle is stalling in the full guard.
Wrastle is continuing to stall.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wreed Wrastle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Wrastle working for a triangle but Stamp defends it easily.
Wrastle wants to stand up but Stamp is controlling him.

Stamp drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wrastle manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Stamp has Wrastle in his guard.

Wrastle has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Stamp controls Wrastle momentarily but Wrastle frees himself.

Wrastle is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Stamp looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Wrastle passes into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Wrastle is figuring out what he wants to do next.
My spies in Titan Fitness $175/wk inform me that Wrastle has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wrastle takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
